Use Phravo for online classes
3 min read · Updated [date]
Phravo works for live online classes and recorded lectures — anything that plays in a Chrome tab. It can’t hear a lecture in a classroom yet.
1Set the context
Before you press Start, choose your own conversation type named after the course, your role, and a goal such as “Understand price elasticity”. Phravo remembers your last choice for next week.
2Live class: open it in Chrome
Join the class in Google Meet, Zoom or Microsoft Teams in the browser, click Phravo in your toolbar and press Start. The desktop Zoom or Teams app won’t work — use the web version.
3Recorded lecture: start on the video’s tab
Open the recording in a Chrome tab, click Phravo on that tab, press Start, then play the video. Mute your microphone so only the lecture is transcribed.
4Ask without interrupting
Type a question in Ask — “what does inelastic mean here?” — and keep listening. The answer draws on what’s been said so far.
5Keep the notes
When you press Stop, Meeting complete shows the summary, key points and open questions. Download them with the transcript as .md to study from.
6Follow your school’s rules
Check your course’s policy on recording, and never use Phravo in exams or graded assessments where AI assistance isn’t allowed.
